Lately, I’ve been very lazy and keep pushing off the tasks from my task list unless and until the very task is on my neck. And that happened yesterday, later on, I realised I’ve been procrastinating a lot, this led me to find out more about this. What is Procrastination? I’m pretty sure you’ve heard of this word before. Let’s now look into this bit more effectively, okay?
The internet boom has made us believe that this world we live in, is a perfect one. Perfection has now been glorified too much thanks to social media and high-speed connections, everyone loves to glorify their lives. People keep posting pictures of their perfect house, perfect relationship, perfect job, etc. But deep down the reality is that – No one is perfect. Social connectivity has made us believe that the lives of people we follow are perfect and we have role models who regularly keep adding oil to the fire of this belief.
Hello friend, how have you been these days? I’ve been pretty lazy, to be honest. Scrolling through social apps like Instagram and Twitter has been kinda my jam. Swiping up reels is so fun, it’s totally time-passing thing. The thing which I realised later and started to do research on was, we are so much hooked to social apps these days that we don’t realise how it is affecting us mentally.
We, humans, are social animals, we work our things out with either of two approaches, a practical one or an emotional one. Let me bring up some good and bad of both the approaches so that you are as familiar with the spectrum of choices as I am. Let’s start with practical choices and how they can go completely right or wrong.
Every day, we face different situations in life that require us to make choices. Some straightforward as to which road to pick for work seeing the traffic. While other choices are difficult to take. Choices are in all walks of life, be it careers, social life, relationships, etc. Here’s where decision making comes into the picture. Making choices in other words is known as decision making. Our choices define us and the direction our life will head once taken.
Have you ever felt like your life is just passing by? Days after days, nights after night, just that same old monotonous life going on. You feel burned out for no reason, and lazy or slow and just want to let life pass by… that state of mental being is called “Rut”. Yes, you read it right, Rut, not rot. Now I know you have quite a few questions, seeing this new term popping up in your life, which probably has some connection to your life, or maybe is part of your life. So, here we go about with it, as we do with another person we see in life, let’s know it, judge it, and decide for ourselves what to do about it.
Honesty sounds like a moral science class, but no! It’s a small word with a deep world within it. Honesty, as simple as I can put it is being true towards something. In the case of relationships, it’s being true to your partner in that relationship. Now, that can be any partner, be it your parent, spouse, girlfriend/boyfriend, or even friend. Honesty is a must for any great relation to stand on it. And trust me, the more honest you are, the longer you’ll be able to sustain and grow in any relationship. But most of all, you have to be 110% honest with someone, that’s you!
Dreams!? Okay, now what’s there to talk about dreams? Trust me, there’s a lot! Dreams are stories, movies, tv series or whatever you’ll like to name, that we see when we are in a state of sound sleep. There are tons of theories, beliefs and even a lot of research is involved in this area of human body, basically speaking mind. Yet no one fully understands them. Dreams are a glimpse of the imaginary world which our mind creates, while our body is resting.
Solitude or state of being with oneself. There’s a solid difference between being with oneself AND being lonely. I am not talking about loneliness. The main difference is loneliness comes from a standpoint of sorrow, or sadness. But being with oneself, or being alone, comes from a point of being at peace with oneself.
